Filming in Sioux Falls
A banking and healthcare center growing faster than its production supply. Recruitment and brand films for large employers are the majority of what we scope here.
Falls Park puts the Big Sioux dropping over pink quartzite in the middle of the city — genuinely photogenic in a way few urban waterfalls manage, and the stone returns a distinctly warm bounce that shows up on faces.

Phillips Avenue runs walkable brick and quartzite frontage with public sculpture along its length, and the river greenway rings the whole city for movement work. Two competing health systems and a financial-services base far larger than the population suggests generate most of the briefs here. Eastern South Dakota takes more moisture than the west, so the summer landscape is greener than Rapid City's, and the flat eastern horizon gives long evening light. South Dakota issues no statewide permit — city streets, parks and public property run through the City of Sioux Falls, with Falls Park under its own city clearance. Sioux Falls Regional is ten minutes northwest, and Palisades State Park's sheer quartzite walls thirty minutes northeast.
Distinctive central settings support the work. Falls Park gives that work an unmistakable local setting, with the Big Sioux River dropping over pink quartzite in the middle of the city. Phillips Avenue adds walkable brick frontage and public sculpture downtown. The Big Sioux River greenway circles the city and supports movement sequences across a continuous urban route.
May through September is the main exterior window. Eastern South Dakota has cold snowy winters, persistent wind, and warm humid summers. It receives more moisture than the western side of the state, so the summer landscape is greener than Rapid City’s. Flat prairie creates long evening light, and the local quartzite returns a warm pink tone.
South Dakota has no statewide film permit. City streets, parks, and public property run through the City of Sioux Falls. Falls Park is city-managed and follows its own city clearance. The largest city in the state remains quick to cross, with uncomplicated staging and parking. Sioux Falls Regional Airport is about ten minutes northwest. Palisades State Park is roughly 30 minutes northeast. Blue Mounds and the Minnesota prairie are about an hour away. Sioux City, Iowa, lies around 90 minutes south. The city follows Central Time and observes daylight saving.
As a video production company, we work across South Dakota, including Rapid City and Aberdeen. If your shoot spans more than one city, we plan it as a single production rather than separate trips.
