Privacy
What this site collects, where it goes, and how to have it removed.
Story Atlas LLC operates this site. We collect as little as we can get away with, and no advertising network is involved.
This notice covers the production company’s website, the counting of visits on our public pages (the Story Atlas AI Studio product pages among them), and the project enquiry form. Accounts in Story Atlas AI Studio, the work in them, payments and product news are covered by the Studio Privacy Notice.
Cookies and analytics
We use two measurement tools, and they differ in a way worth stating plainly rather than averaging out.
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless. They record aggregate page views and loading performance — pages, referrers, country, device type — and do not build a profile of you.
Google Analytics does set cookies. It stores two first-party cookies in your browser, named _ga and one beginning _ga_, which hold a random identifier so that several visits from you are counted as one person rather than several strangers, and it sends page and event data to Google. We use it to see which pages actually bring in work. We do not use it for advertising.
Turning it off. The notice at the bottom of the page has a “Turn analytics off” button. It stops all three tools in this browser: Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. It deletes the two cookies Google has already written, and from then on Google’s script is not loaded at all. To remember that choice we store one small flag in your browser’s local storage — that flag is the only thing this site stores of its own accord, it holds nothing but your answer, and it is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browsing data resets it, and the notice will ask once more.
Changing your mind. “Privacy choices” at the foot of every page opens the notice again, shows which answer stands, and lets you change it, as often as you like.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that choice already made: none of the three tools is loaded and you are not shown the notice at all. Nothing on this site stops working either way — there is no feature behind the cookie. We do not answer the older Do Not Track signal.
What is kept in your browser. Google’s two cookies, _ga and _ga_ with a number, for up to two years unless you turn analytics off. Our own flag, sa-analytics, in local storage, holding your answer until you clear it. On the product pages, one more value, sa-signed-in, kept until you close the tab so the menu can say “Login” without asking twice. Vercel’s tools keep nothing in your browser.
What you send us through the form
The project form asks for your name, email address and a description of what you are making. Company and phone number are optional. We also record which page you started from, so a producer knows the context before replying.
Two hidden fields guard against automated submissions: an ordinary-looking field that people never see and bots tend to fill in, and the time taken to complete the form. Both are used once, to decide whether a submission is genuine, and then discarded.
Where it goes, and what we keep
A submission becomes two emails: one to us so a producer can reply, and a confirmation to you. Enquiries are not kept in a database. Your enquiry lives in our email inbox, the same way it would if you had written to us directly, and it stays there until we delete it.
Our server also writes short operational log lines — these include the email address of a submission, and for messages caught by the spam filters, the originating IP address. They exist to diagnose failures and abuse, are held briefly by our host, and are not used for anything else.
We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers, and an enquiry does not put you on a marketing list. If we ever want to send you something you did not ask for, we will ask first. Product news about Story Atlas AI Studio is separate: it goes only to people who ask for it and confirm from their own inbox, and the Studio Privacy Notice covers it.
Companies that handle it on our behalf
We keep this list short deliberately. Each of these processes your information only to provide a service to us:
- Vercel — hosting, server logs, and the cookieless analytics described above.
- Google Analytics — measures which pages bring in work, and sets the two cookies described above.
- Resend — delivers the two emails a submission produces.
- Google Workspace — the inbox that receives and stores your enquiry.
- Cloudflare — domain registration and DNS.
Asking us to delete it
Write to andrew@storyatlasstudio.com and ask. We will delete your enquiry and confirm that we have. You do not need to explain why, and you do not need to live anywhere in particular for this to apply — we would rather offer it to everyone than work out who is legally entitled to it.
You can also ask what we hold, or ask us to correct it. The honest answer is usually “one email thread”.
Other sites, and children
Pages here may link to other companies’ sites. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy governs what happens next, not this one.
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than absorbed quietly into the text.
