Filming in Oklahoma City
Energy headquarters, a fast-growing medical district, and a downtown that has been rebuilt for the camera. Corporate and employer-brand work dominates what we shoot here.
Oklahoma City is unusually easy to move a production through for a market its size — a wide grid, short drives, and parking that is not a negotiation. That ease buys setups. Stockyards City has traded cattle since 1910 and still does, with the brick and pens intact. Bricktown puts warehouses, canal water and bridges inside a walkable downtown. Scissortail Park faces the modern skyline directly, and the Paseo's curved street of Spanish Revival storefronts works at small scale and speed. The open horizon is the light story: nothing obstructs it, so sunrise and sunset run long and the scale comes from the plains rather than from height. Public filming follows a two-part route — a Letter of Support from the Oklahoma City Film & Creative Industries Office, then the city permit — and Will Rogers World is ten miles southwest. Norman's research facilities sit thirty minutes south, inside the same production day.
More on filming in Oklahoma City
Varied, accessible settings support the work. Stockyards City adds a working cattle market that has operated since 1910. Bricktown brings warehouses, canal water, and bridges into a walkable downtown area. Scissortail Park faces the modern skyline, and the Paseo Arts District provides smaller Spanish Revival storefronts on a curved street.
April through early June and September through October are the main exterior windows. Summers are hot and humid, winters swing sharply, and severe-weather season from April through June can interrupt outdoor work. Wind is the more persistent sound constraint across the year. Oklahoma City’s open horizon produces long sunrise and sunset light, with a scale that comes from the plains rather than from vertical terrain.
Public filming follows a two-part city process: a Letter of Support from the Oklahoma City Film & Creative Industries Office and a separate permit from the City of Oklahoma City. The city’s wide grid, short travel times, and available parking make movement unusually easy for a large market. Will Rogers World Airport is about ten miles southwest of downtown. Norman and its university research facilities are roughly 30 minutes south. The Wichita Mountains sit about 90 minutes southwest. The city stays on Central Time and observes daylight saving.
As a video production company, we work across Oklahoma, including Tulsa and Norman. If your shoot spans more than one city, we plan it as a single production rather than separate trips.
